D.El.Ed Programme

Annual Intake: 50

The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) is meant for preparing teachers for elementary schools (Primary and Upper Primary/ Middle).

Admission / Allotment

Admission / Allotment of seats is governed by a Centralised Allotment Process. And for the admission for the Management Quota seats done by the Management based on merit and other criteria.

Fee Schedule

Fee Schedule is fixed as per the norms of the Govt. / University. Curriculum Transaction and number of working days is determined by the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) Thiruvananthapuram. As per the Kerala State Government order, the present fee for merit seats is Rs. 30,000/- and for the Management Quota seats, it is Rs. 35,000/- per year.

Duration and Intake

The Present D.El.Ed. course is a four-semester programme of two years. For effective curriculum transaction and for ensuring optimum utilisation of physical and instructional infrastructure and expertise of the teaching staff, there shall be a unit of 50 students for intake each year.

Eligibility

  • a) Candidates with at least 50% marks in the senior secondary examination (+2), or its equivalent, are eligible for admission.
  • b) Admission should be made either based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination or the entrance examination conducted by the state Govt., as per the policy of the State Govt.
  • c) There shall be reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC, Physically Challenged, Women, etc. as per the rules of the concerned State Govt.
