Dr. P.P. Shajmon joined the college on 16th March 2006 as Assistant Professor in Social Science Education. He has more than 23 years of teaching experience in various Colleges of Teacher Education, under Mahatma Gandhi University. He qualified B.A (Economics) from St. Thomas College, Pala; M.A (Economics) from Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha,B.Ed (History) from University College of Teacher Education, Kerala University. M.Ed (Social Science) and Ph.D from School of Pedagogical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University. He also qualified NET (Education) His interesting areas of teaching are Social Science Education, Philosophy of Education, Sociology of Education, Indian Philosophy, Elementary Education, School Management and Guidance and Counselling.
Dr.Shajimon is a Research Guide at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu (4 Candidates awarded Ph.D and one submitted thesis)and guided 11 M.Ed Dissertations of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He completed two minor research projects, published more than fifty papers , co-ordinated four seminars and participated in more than sixty seminars. He is a member in various academic organisations like Council for teacher Education (CTE) Kerala, Society of Innovative Researchers and Academicians (SIRA), All Kerala Training College Teachers Association (AKTCTA) and Social Science Teacher Educators Consortium. He acted as Resource person in various academic and non-academic programmes, Subject Expert in Interview Board, , Curriculum Development Committee Member, Question Paper Setter, Chairman and member of Practical examination Board, Research Supervisor, External Examiner for Ph.D Thesis and M.Ed.Dissertations of various universities, Official in General Elections and Census Programmes of Government.
